Last October 9, 5 members of our Houses of Formation of the Institute of the Incarnate Word in Lipa, Filipinas were instituted to the Ministry of Readers (Lectors) during the Holy Mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Lipa, Ramon C. Arguelles.  Attending the event were the members of our Institute, family, friends and benefactors who are living near the Houses of Formation.

Formerly called minor orders, the institution to the ministries of readers and acolyte are considered as a training in preparation for the reception of sacred orders. As readers, the future priests are given “the responsibility in the service of faith…[to] proclaim the word in the liturgical assembly” and to serve as catechists, instructing the People of God to receive the sacraments worthily.
